I am proud to be Head of a school which has at its heart a commitment to its Mission to be a happy, healthy learning community, empowering all members to flourish. As a not-for-profit school, founded in 1983 by a group of visionary parents, every decision we make is based on one simple but powerful question: Will this help our students to flourish?
At ICHK HLY we are committed to ensuring that every student flourishes, academically, socially, emotionally and physically. To achieve this we have developed an internationally minded, challenging and balanced curriculum using the PYP framework of the International Baccalaureate Organisation.
With our unique setting, extensive outdoor spaces and access to the nature of the New Territories, we focus on achieving our vision of being a leader in Outdoor Education, Wellbeing and Innovation.
We are proud to have been the first accredited Forest Schools Leadership Centre outside of the UK and the first school in Hong Kong to plant its very own Miyawaki miniforest.
As a member of the Positive Education Schools Association we ensure a focus on the well being of all students as they grow and develop. It is a great testament to the success of ICHK HLY that the phrase people most often use to describe us is happy.
We constantly strive to innovate and improve for the benefit of our students and have recently been awarded Smart Schools Status by the Institute of Bilingual and Multilingual Learners in recognition of the fact that all of our teaching staff are fully trained in the most impactful ways of supporting our Bilingual and Multilingual Learners.
In addition to our amazing Kindergarten and Primary School here at Hong Lok Yuen, our partnership with ICHK Secondary School, located nearby at Sha Tau Kok, means that students can have a unique and truly world class through train of education from, Nursery to Year 13.
